Atlantic Station -
Atlanta, Georgia JDI's
Atlantic Station project, in a prime downtown Atlanta location next
to the I-75/I-85 interchange, is transforming the former Atlantic
Steel site, 138-acre brownfield into a model of 21st century
urbanism where people live, work and play in a convenient,
attractive inner city setting. Comprising the largest cleanup of an
industrial site in the Southeast, the mixed-use project represents a
new echelon in community redevelopment. High tech incubators Fiber
Optics "Smart Buildings" Green Alt. Energy.
It
will feature:
- 6 million square feet of office space;
- 1.5 million square feet of retail and entertainment space,
including restaurants, night clubs, and video-game and movie
theaters (developed by the Mills Corp.);
- a 4,000 to 500,000 square feet "Big Box" Retailers
developed by JDI.
- a
high-technology office park;
- Low-Mid
apartments, high rise apartments, condos, townhomes.
- 3 hotels with up to 1,000 rooms;
- an infrastructure featuring lakes, parks, monuments, roads,
"people movers" and, most notably, a pedestrian-friendly bridge
that will link the site to Atlanta's metro rapid-transit system
(MARTA) and dramatically redefine the city's skyline.
